OVERVIEW

The Rincón de la Vieja Volcano features an expansive area along its slopes where visitors can observe the strength and character of an active volcanic system. An easy trail leads through a transitional forest filled with lush vegetation, wildlife, unique geological formations, and visible volcanic activity such as fumaroles, mud pots, boiling sulfuric water, and small geysers. Throughout the walk, your expert guide will interpret the surroundings and bring the trail to life.

This circular trail of 3.5 kms typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on interest and physical condition.

After the hike, we take a short break to rehydrate before descending the stairs to La Oropéndola Waterfall, where if weather conditions allow, you can enjoy a refreshing swim in its crystal-clear natural pool.

**Important Information: If you want to add La Cangreja Waterfall to your visit, ask your concierge for additional pricing and availability, as it is subject to weather conditions.

Approximate driving time per way: 1:45 hours.
